Fade In / Fade Out, made simple
A fade-in gradually raises the volume from silence; a fade-out lowers it back to silence. Use them to give a music clip a softer entrance or help a voice recording end cleanly. Each fade duration can be set independently.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add only a fade-out?
Yes. Set fade-in to zero and choose a fade-out duration. You can also do the reverse.
What type of fade is applied?
The tool applies a linear gain envelope to each channel. Overlapping envelopes are multiplied.
Can a fade be longer than my recording?
No. Each fade must be between zero and the duration of the loaded recording.
Which browsers and files are supported?
Use a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Common MP3 and WAV files work best; other formats depend on browser and codec support. Source audio is limited to 50 MB in total, video to 150 MB / 6 minutes, and decoded audio to 32 million samples. Large files may exceed available device memory. The first MP3 export or video extraction downloads an approximately 32 MB processing engine.
