Frequently asked questions
How do I cut an MP3 without uploading it?
Open an MP3 here, set the start and end of your clip, then create and download it. Decoding and encoding happen inside your browser.
Can I select an exact time?
Yes. The start and end fields accept seconds with decimals. You can also drag either handle on the waveform.
Is the cut lossless?
WAV exports contain the decoded audio as 16-bit PCM. MP3 exports are re-encoded and are not lossless.
Which browsers and files are supported?
Use a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Common MP3 and WAV files work best; other formats depend on browser and codec support. Source audio is limited to 50 MB in total, video to 150 MB / 6 minutes, and decoded audio to 32 million samples. Large files may exceed available device memory. The first MP3 export or video extraction downloads an approximately 32 MB processing engine.
