How to use Volume Booster

  1. Open a quiet audio recording.
  2. Set the gain and choose whether to protect peaks from clipping.
  3. Create the louder version, listen and download.

Volume Booster, made simple

Increase the level of a quiet voice note, interview or music clip with a gain control measured in decibels. Peak protection reduces the requested gain if it would push samples above the maximum digital level.

Frequently asked questions

Will boosting volume remove noise?

No. Gain increases both the useful signal and any background noise already in the recording.

What does peak protection do?

It limits the applied gain so the loudest sample does not exceed the digital maximum. It does not compress individual peaks.

Why is the result quieter than expected?

A loud peak may restrict the gain when peak protection is enabled. This prevents clipped samples.

Which browsers and files are supported?

Use a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Common MP3 and WAV files work best; other formats depend on browser and codec support. Source audio is limited to 50 MB in total, video to 150 MB / 6 minutes, and decoded audio to 32 million samples. Large files may exceed available device memory. The first MP3 export or video extraction downloads an approximately 32 MB processing engine.
